Thank you to each and every one of you who came to share a special day, and for those of you who phoned, emailed, voice mailed, text messaged, and snail mailed your best wishes. You have filled my heart to overflowing!
The weekend of awesomeness (I know, it's not a "real" word) kicked off around 2 pm on Saturday when a car load of Navigator friends pulled into the drive. Not long after, our yard was full of 20-somethings warming up to the idea of being kids again.
Pole tag was a hit, though it didn't last long. The goal: don't touch the pole. The result: one man standing, all "men" exhausted. I think I can vouch for all the girls... the round with guys was more tame than the all girls round!
The 30 C+ weather prompted the inevitable... WATER FIGHT!
Hours later after a BBQ for friends and family, a bonfire was lit and surrounded by smiles and laughter long into the night. If you know much about Alberta summers, the sun doesn't set until well after 10 pm when there was a mad scramble to set up tents for the night, and huddle around the fire with blankets and bug spray.
University was a challenge, and resulted in the amazing opportunity to teach in Rocky Mountain House, but thanks to YOU, it really feels like an accomplishment. Your prayers, support, hugs, and smiles are a true gift.
